Terms of service
These terms apply to everyone with a CheerDeck account: event producers, clubs and their coaches, judges and event staff. Spectators using public pages and buying tickets are covered by the producer’s own ticket terms and our privacy notice.
1. The service
CheerDeck provides web apps for running cheer and dance competitions — registration, payments, scheduling, judging, results and public event pages. Everything runs in a web browser; nothing needs to be installed.
2. Accounts
- You must give accurate details, keep your password and any authenticator private, and tell us at once if you think your account has been misused.
- One account can hold several roles for several producers and clubs. Each producer and club decides who holds roles in its workspace or club.
- Paired judging and crew tablets act for the person they were paired for, at one event only, and can be signed out by the organiser at any time.
3. Producers
- Producers use CheerDeck on the plan assigned by CheerDeck. Plan prices, limits and included features are shown in the workspace.
- Producers are responsible for their events: entry terms, fees, refund policies, rules applied, scoring panels and the accuracy of released results.
- Entry fees and ticket money are paid to the producer’s own Stripe account or bank account. CheerDeck never holds producers’ money; Stripe’s own fees and terms apply to card payments.
- Producers must not show athletes’ personal information on public pages or their websites beyond what CheerDeck publishes (team and club names).
4. Clubs
- Club accounts are free. The club is responsible for the information it records about its athletes, guardians and staff, and for obtaining the consents CheerDeck asks for (sharing notice, event waivers, photography and — only where needed — medical notes).
- Submitting an entry shares the entry details with the producer under that event’s entry terms, which the club confirms.
5. Judges and staff
Scores and notes are entered for the producer running the event and may be released to clubs and the public once the producer confirms them. Judges declare conflicts of interest when asked.
6. Acceptable use
Do not try to access another organisation’s data, interfere with the service, upload unlawful content or music you are not licensed to use, or use CheerDeck to send unsolicited marketing.
7. Availability
We run CheerDeck carefully and rehearse event days, but it is provided on a best-efforts basis outside event days. Event-day features are designed to keep working through connection problems; producers keep a printed paper fallback kit.
8. Data protection
Where CheerDeck processes personal information for a producer or a club, our data processing agreement applies. Our privacy notice explains the rest.
9. Ending
You can close your account at any time from your account page. When a workspace or club closes, its data is exported on request and then deleted within 90 days, except financial records we must keep.
10. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law. Otherwise our liability is limited as set out in the producer’s order form or, for free accounts, to £100.
11. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
